Discover the real Middle-earth on the most picturesque private farmland, near Matamata. Here you can visit the Hobbiton Movie Set from The Lord of the Rings film trilogy in a fascinating two-hour guided tour around the 12 acre set.
The set has been rebuilt permanently for filming of The Hobbit and features hobbit holes, The Green Dragon Inn, Mill, bridge and gardens. There are spectacular views across to the Kaimai Ranges from the rolling green hills of the movie set, which is still a working sheep and beef farm.
Tours depart daily at 9.30am, 10.45am, 12.00pm, 1.15pm and 2.30pm
