Take to the sky and explore the dramatic mountain ridges of the Southern Alps, before touching down to taste wines from the world’s southernmost wine producing region. Begin the morning with a tasting at a boutique vineyard in the Gibbston wine region before being met by an Airbus H120 helicopter for a spectacular scenic flight over the Central Otago wine region. Enjoy personalised inflight commentary about the region’s extreme climate and understand how the gold mining era has influenced the award-winning wines produced in the vineyards below. An alpine landing at Slapjacks Point offers great views of the Southern Alps and Cromwell Basin, as well as a spectacular photo opportunity. Spend the afternoon indulging in an a la carte lunch accompanied by a glass of wine and two further wine tastings at premium Central Otago vineyards. Your passionate senior Appellation guide will impart all there is to know about the local region and of course everything about Central Otago wines!
